38. The churchwardens shall retire in succession, one third at the end of each fiscal year; however, their term of office is extended until they are replaced.
A churchwarden remains eligible for that office but he may never remain in office for more than two full consecutive terms.

The churchwardens shall retire in succession, one-third at the end of each fiscal year, but they shall continue in office until the election or appointment of their successors if the latter have not then been elected or appointed; they are not reeligible until two years after the expiry of their previous term.
