421. Subject to paragraphs 4, 5 and 6 of section 407, a candidate may himself pay his personal expenses incurred on the occasion of an election, up to the amount of $2 000. The personal expenses that the candidate may so pay shall form part of his election expenses but must not include any publicity.
The candidate shall send an itemized statement to his official agent of his personal expenses paid in accordance with this section.
