46. On the first day, after the close of the advance polling station, the poll clerk shall enter in the poll book the particulars provided for in section 116.
The deputy returning officer shall place in separate envelopes the ballot papers that are in the ballot box, the spoiled or cancelled ballot papers, the unused ballot papers, the forms, and the electoral list; he shall then seal the envelopes with lead seals. These envelopes, except the envelope containing the electoral list, and the poll book shall be placed in the ballot box sealed by the deputy returning officer.
The deputy returning officer, the poll clerk and the agents who wish to do so shall affix their initials to the seals of the envelopes and of the ballot box. He shall then remit the ballot box to the returning officer or to the person designated by the returning officer.
