549. A legal person that, on 18 July 1999, holds a certificate as a multidisciplinary firm issued by the Inspector General of Financial Institutions authorizing the pursuit of activities in the field of real estate brokerage may register with the Authority as a multi-sector firm in that field. For the purposes of this Act, that field is deemed, in respect of that person, to be a sector.
The legal person may, in such a case, pursue that activity through the holder of a real estate agent’s certificate or an affiliated real estate broker’s certificate issued under the Real Estate Brokerage Act (chapter C‐73.1).
For the purposes of Title II, such certificate holders are deemed to be representatives. However, the firm and its executive officers must ensure that the representatives also comply with the Real Estate Brokerage Act and the regulations under it.
