20. In no case may the chairman of the executive committee receive from the Community, from the Société de transport and from the Commission de développement de la métropole total annual remuneration greater than the maximum amount which the Government may fix by regulation.
The regulation may have retroactive effect from 1 January of the year in which it comes into force.

20. In no case may the chairman of the executive committee receive from the Community, as remuneration and allowance, a total annual sum greater than that which the Government may fix by order.
The order shall be published in the Gazette officielle du Québec. It comes into force on 1 January immediately preceding or following its publication, as provided therein.

20. The chairman and the vice-chairman of the executive committee shall be appointed by resolution of the Council; they shall be chosen from among the members of the executive committee.
Such two positions shall not be held at the same time by two members of the executive committee of the City of Montréal or by two members of the executive committee appointed by other sectors than the Montréal sector.
