172. The transit authority may, in accordance with law, make an agreement respecting the exercise of its jurisdiction with a government, one of its departments, an international organization and any body of that government or organization or with any other public body. It may carry out the agreement and exercise the rights and fulfil the obligations arising therefrom, even outside its territory.

The transit authority may, with the prior authorization of the Government, make with the Government of Canada or any body thereof, and may, with the authorization of the Minister and the Minister of Transport, make with any regional or local municipality of the province of Ontario and with any other public body, including a municipality, agreements respecting the exercise of its jurisdiction; it may then carry out such agreements and exercise the rights and privileges and fulfil the obligations arising therefrom, even outside its territory.
