47. Effective 15 August 1974, no motorcycle shall be registered for the first time in Québec unless it complies with the following standards of construction:
(a)  it must measure not less than 1 m between the front axle and rear axle and not less than 70 cm from the ground to the top of the part of the saddle, seat or place usually occupied by the driver, when the vehicle is in motion;
(b)  it must be provided with wheels all of which have a diameter equal to or greater than 25 cm measured from rim to rim and with a handlebar not more than 8 cm lower nor more than 40 cm higher than the level of the place usually occupied by the driver;
(c)  it must be provided with the brakes envisaged in subsection 1 of section 31, with a flexible suspension at the front and rear and with lights in conformity with section 28.
This section does not apply to a bicycle contemplated in section 13.

(b)  it must be provided with wheels all of which have a diameter equal to or greater than 10 inches measured from rim to rim and with a handlebar not more than 3 inches lower nor more than 15 inches higher than the level of the place usually occupied by the driver;
(c)  it must be provided with the brakes envisaged in subsection 1 of section 31, with a flexible suspension at the front and rear and with lights in conformity with section 28.
This section does not apply to a bicycle contemplated in section 13.
