57. Every person who makes or instals and unauthorized plate on a road vehicle or drives on a public highway a road vehicle provided with such a plate is guilty of an offence and is liable, in addition to costs, to a fine of $200 to $500.
For the purposes of this section, an unauthorized plate is a registration plate that was not issued by the Régie or that is attached to a road vehicle other than that for which it was issued.
