263. Every person who leases or lets, as a place of assembly, for an election committee or election meeting, any house, part of a house or place in which alcoholic beverages are retailed, and in which food and drink are ordinarily supplied for payment, or makes use of any such house or place for that purpose, shall be guilty of an offence triable summarily, and liable to a fine of not more than fifty dollars, and, on failure to pay such fine, to imprisonment for not more than one month.
