17. (Repealed).

17. (1)  Within two months following the approval of the resolution by the qualified voters, the council may present a petition to the Government praying it to grant the letters patent.
(2)  Such petition must state:
(a)  The population of the proposed municipality;
(b)  The name of the municipality;
(c)  The boundaries of the municipality;
(d)  (Paragraph repealed);
(e)  The place where the first general meeting of the council will be held;
(f)  (Paragraph repealed).

17. (1)  Within two months following the date fixed by the council under subsection 3 of section 16, the council may present a petition to the Government praying it to grant the letters patent.
(2)  Such petition must state:
(a)  The population of the proposed municipality;
(b)  The name of the municipality;
(c)  The boundaries of the municipality;
(d)  The number of wards into which the municipality is to be divided;
(e)  The place where the first general meeting of the council will be held;
(f)  The total number of councillors, and the number of councillors for each ward.
