204. Every railway company, as soon as possible, and within not more than forty-eight hours after the occurrence upon the railway belonging to such company of any accident attended with serious personal injury to any passenger, or whereby any bridge, culvert, viaduct or tunnel on the railway has been broken or so damaged as to be impassable or unfit for use, shall give immediate notice thereof to the Commission des transports.
Any company wilfully omitting to give such notice shall forfeit to Her Majesty the sum of $200 for every day during which such omission continues.
