157. (1)  No passenger shall be entitled to carry, or to require the company to carry upon its railway, aquafortis, oil of vitriol, gun-powder, nitro-glycerine, or any other goods which, in the judgment of the officers of the company, may be of a dangerous nature.
(2)  Every person who sends by the said railway any such goods, without, at the time of so sending the said goods, distinctly marking their nature on the outside of the package containing the same, and without otherwise giving notice in writing to the station-master or other servant of the company with whom the same are left, shall forfeit to the company the sum of $500 for every such offence.
