B-7 - Teachers Scholarships Act

2. In this act, unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms shall have the following meaning:
(a)  scholarship : the pecuniary assistance granted under this act for the period of one school year;
(b)  student : a bachelor of arts or bachelor of pedagogy who has not had three years’ experience in teaching and wishes to pursue university studies in one of the subjects mentioned in paragraph c of section 5;
(c)  professor : a bachelor of arts or bachelor of pedagogy who has had three years’ experience in teaching and wishes to pursue such studies;
(d)  teaching institution : a secondary school governed by the Education Act (chapter I-14), an independent secondary school or classical college recognized by the Minister of Education;
(e)  universitarian institution : a university or an institution affiliated with, incorporated in or annexed to it and providing education leading to the degrees of master, licentiate and doctor;
(f)  Minister : the Minister of Education.
