44. Every alienation of lands in the domain of the State shall be subject to a reserve in full ownership in favour of the domain of the State, of archaeological property and sites found therein excepting treasures which are governed by article 938 of the Civil Code.

44. Every alienation of lands in the public domain shall be subject to a reserve in full ownership in favour of the public domain, of archaeological property and sites found therein excepting treasures which remain governed by article 586 of the Civil Code of Lower Canada.
