26. The Minister of Transport is responsible for the application of this Act.

26. (1)  Old car dumps are prohibited along autoroutes and connecting highways within a distance determined by order of the Government, published in the Gazette officielle du Québec and which may vary from one autoroute to another or from one part of an autoroute or connecting highway to another.
(2)  When an infringement of subsection 1 is committed, the following persons shall be liable to the penalties provided by subsection 3:
(a)  the owner, lessee or occupant of the land;
(b)  the owner of the vehicles deposited thereon.
(3)  Every infringement of subsection 1 shall render the offender liable, in addition to the costs, to a fine of twenty to forty dollars for a first offence and of forty to one hundred dollars in the case of any subsequent offence within the ensuing twelve months.
(4)  The court which pronounces the sentence shall order that the vehicles concerned in the infringement be removed within a delay of eight days from the date of the sentence, at the expense of the person convicted.
(5)  Proceedings under subsection 3 shall be taken in accordance with the Summary Convictions Act (chapter P-15) and Part II of such act shall apply thereto.
