S-2.1, r. 4 - Safety Code for the construction industry

Full text Impact noises of different levels: When a worker is exposed to impact noises of different levels, the combined effect of these levels shall be computed by adding the following fractions:
C1 C2 Cm
—— + —— + ....——,
N1 N2 Nm
where C indicates the total number of impacts at a specific sound level, and Nm indicates the total number of impacts permitted in accordance with section
For the purposes of this section, the computation shall not include any exposure of a worker to a sound level of less than 120 dB linear peak value.
Where this method of computation is used, a worker shall not be exposed to a sound level so that the sum of the fractions exceeds unity.
