Regulation respecting the procedure for appointing the members of the board of directors of the Régie régionale du Nunavik
Act respecting health services and social services
(chapter S-4.2, s. 530.31).
DIVISION I
GENERAL

1. This Regulation applies to the appointment of the persons referred to in paragraphs 1 to 3 of section 530.30 of the Act respecting health services and social services (chapter S-4.2).
Those appointments shall take place in November 1997 and thereafter every 3 years.

DIVISION II
PERSON RESPONSIBLE
2. The executive director of the Régie régionale du Nunavik is responsible for the coordination of the appointments referred to in this Regulation.

DIVISION III
APPOINTMENTS
3. At least 30 days before the appointment date, the executive director shall forward to the secretary of each of the Northern village municipalities, to the chairman of the board of directors of each institution in the territory of the Régie régionale du Nunavik and to the chairman of the board of directors of the Kativik Regional Government a notice indicating that each of those legal persons is entitled to appoint a member of the board of directors of the regional board.
In the case of institutions, the notice must specify that the person appointed by the board of directors shall be chosen from among the persons elected to that board by the assemblies of the inhabitants of Northern village municipalities.

4. The resolution of the council of each municipality, the resolution of the board of directors of each institution or the resolution of the council of the Kativik Regional Government shall be received by the executive director before the scheduled date of the appointment.
The resolution shall be accompanied by the nomination paper completed for the appointed person.

5. The executive director shall complete a certificate of appointment for each appointed person.
The executive director shall forward a copy of those certificates and nomination papers to the Minister of Health and Social Services within 10 days.

6. Where no appointment is made, the executive director shall so inform the Minister within 5 days of the scheduled date of the appointment.
